Ville Franche at Villefranche, Riviera

A beautiful, pastel-painted town at the head of the French Riveria, Villefranche is a small town of only 8,000 inhabitants but, within its limits you'll discover a walled citadel, Gothic churches, and ancient harbour, all a delight. For a change of pace, the glamour and pulse of Monte Carlo is just a short drive away. Drive inland over rolling hills to St. Paul de Vence, a walled hill fort which dates back to the middle ages. Back in Villefranche, take your pick from a string of harbourside restaurants, offering decidedly Italian-influenced meals, each more inviting than the next.
Sylvamar at Labenne Ocean, Gascony

Camping Sylvamar is part of the Yelloh! Village chain of campsites. The excellent facilities, located away from our accommodation, include a lagoon style watermark complete with waterslides and lazy river, overlooked by the modern restaurant and bar terrace. It is just a fifteen minute walk or cycle to the fine sandy beaches of this area, and water sports facilities are widely available. Whilst there is plenty to do at this well-maintained campsite, the Les Landes forest is perfect for cyclists. Campsite rules are strictly enforced for the benefit and comfort of all guests. The facilities on this park are second to none, especially the superb aquatic area with its three pools, lazy river and triple waterslide. About 900m away, you can learn to surf and body board in the spectacular Atlantic waves. There are dozens of activities for kids of all ages, as well as entertainment, cantered around the bar-restaurant every night in high season, with the promise that all will be quiet after midnight. And the park owner is keen for all rules to be respected for the benefit and comfort of all guests. Beyond the park, Labenne offers endless forest roads and cycle paths; while the town itself has a splendid outdoor market, two petting zoos, as well as the lovely Marais d'Orx nature park.
La Baume at Frejus, Cote d'Azur

This park is defiantly for you if you enjoy activities as there is so much to do there will be little time for sitting and relaxing. There are however 2 bars and a restaurant as well as plenty of space to sit around the pool if you want a break from all the excitement. The children have a play area; club with organised activities and even their own disco. Park run sports tournaments; basketball; badminton; climbing wall and archery will give the older children something to think about and a 16+ disco just for good measure. There are family discos during July and August. Sightseeing has not been left from the list of things connected with this busy park with Cannes only 16 miles; St Tropez 22 miles and Nice 40 miles.
Holiday Green at Frejus, Cote d'Azur

The huge Californian pool complex is great fun for all the family and includes a children's pool with water games, and a covered heated pool, toboggans, solarium and jacuzzi. Throughout the season there are aqua aerobics, water polo and water volleyball tournament and in July and August swimming lessons, fun waterskiing and even deep-sea diving instruction. The park has a restaurant, bar, supermarket, fitness room, tennis court, boules pitch, archery and mountain biking. There is also free evening entertainment and themed restaurant nights. Due to the undulating nature of the terrain on this park and the placement of some of the pitches on quite steep terraces, this park is not ideal for those with mobility problems.
L'Etang de la Breche at Saumur, Loire Valley

The first thing that will strike you about this superb parc is the wonderful space and openness of the grounds. There are simply acres and acres for you to relax in and for the children to run off their spare energy. The facilities are excellent, including an impressive pool complex with waterslides and a separate toddler pool. The family proprietors are your hosts in the attractive bar and restaurant, and their personal approach is much in evidence throughout. The location is ideal for exploring, with l'Etang de la Breche nearby as well as many outstanding chateaux.
Chateau de l'Eperviere at Gigny-sur-Saone, Burgundy

Chateau de l'Eperviere is an attractive site, situated in mature woodland in the heart of France's Burgundy region. This is a quiet haven where the generous emplacements are set amongst ancient oaks, providing plenty of space for the children to explore. Cool off with a refreshing swim in the two pools, one of which is covered, or the ultimate way to de-stress is taking a relaxing jacuzzi or sauna. There is a delightful restaurant housed in the 16th century chateau and the cosy bar hosts regular wine tasting sessions. This is an excellent area for walkers and cyclists to go exploring.

This well maintained park is set in rolling hills in unspoilt countryside this is a highly rated park by visitors. The shop, bar and restaurant are converted form lovely old farm buildings. The pretty bar terrace overlooks the swimming pool area, waterslides, tennis court, and spacious play area. Much of the accommodation can be found on pitches shaded by mature oak trees.
Le Ruisseau at Biarritz, Gascony

Beside a small lake, this family-run park is just four miles from the elegant town of Biarritz. The Pyrenees form a magnificent backdrop to this park, which has terraced hillside pitches set amongst oak trees. A great water complex includes a four-lane waterslide, as well as a covered pool across the road in a newer part of the campsite. There is also a spa, gym, sun bed and sauna. If you head to the beach then you will find it is great for body boarding and surfing. Of course you are also on the doorstep of Spain and Pyrernees for great days out.
Domaine de Massereau at Sommieres, Languedoc

Part of the prestigious Castels chain, the park owners have created a unique theme, based around the stunning wine producing chateau. Guests are able to take guided tours around the chateau and vineyard and purchase a wide variety of wine that the estate produces every year. The pitches are located amongst tranquil and picturesque oak trees and the facilities including a heated swimming pool and park restaurant, will appeal to families with young children. There is also an indoor spa, jacuzzi and sauna, and in May, June and September, you will get a free 45 minute session when you spend more than 3 nights on park (small charge otherwise). Off park try trekking at the Camargue National Park or take a ride along the 25 miles of purpose built cycle track which runs from Sommieres through the park itself.

There are also many beautiful walks and gorgeous wine villages to be explored and the many attractions of Switzerland are within easy reach.

You will find that the park offers an absolutely superb pool complex, complete with water slides. Golfers will be delighted with the facilities in the grounds of nearby Chateau de Bournel, while the whole family will welcome the efforts of the park entertainment who organise sporting events for children of all ages, discos for teenagers and lively evening fun for the whole family in high season. The magnificent Seigneurial Chateau lies just 8km away and the weekly organised trips are highly recommended.

Most importantly, the Loire is most famous for its many chateaux, two of which, Chambord and Blois, are close to hand.

Children are well catered for with their own separate pool and seven playgrounds. For older children and adults there are also a wide range of sports activities ranging from table tennis to archery. Le Farret benefits from direct access to a wonderful sandy Mediterranean beach and the site's excellent restaurant and pirate-themed bar facilities have more than enough to entertain you for the duration of your stay, however if you can tear yourself away from the park a short 500m walk will take you directly into Vias Plage with its lively bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
