Club Farret at Vias Plage, Languedoc

This family run park offers everything you could need for a sun and sand holiday with plenty to do for the whole family. The lagoon style pool complex, surrounded by palms and shrubs, is a real sun trap and even better a newly planned spa and extended pool. The park also offers no less than seven playgrounds, while adults can enjoy sports that range from table tennis to archery. Le Farret benefits from direct access to a wonderful sandy Mediterranean beach and the site's excellent restaurant and pirate themed bar facilities have more than enough to entertain you for the duration of your stay, however if you can tear yourself away from the park, a short 500m walk will take you directly into Vias Plage with its lively bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
Les Mouettes at Carantec, Brittany

Les Mouettes is situated near one of the most beautiful bays on the Breton coast. Carantec has a feeling of peace and spaciousness that makes it a popular choice with families. Mature trees and shrubs enhance the park area where most of the pitches are grassy and some are partly shaded but, there are also some large, sunny pitches. One of the main attractions is the impressive swimming pool complex overlooked by the bar terrace, where the children will enjoy floating along the lazy river surrounding the huge water chutes. They can also try their hand at the unusual 18-hole crazy-golf course, not forgetting the beach is just 1.5km away. The picturesque old port of Roscoff is near by and offers boat trips to the island of Batz.

In a very popular family area, this excellent park is regarded as one of the best in the Vendee. It is located close to the beach, just a ten minute walk, and five miles south of the busy town of St Jean-de-Monts (which also has some great beaches). The focal point of this modern park is the swimming complex that has outdoor and indoor pools, heated pools, jacuzzi and slides/chutes. There is also an excellent children's play area, which along with the many activities makes this a popular family resort. The park runs entertainment throughout the season and there are many local restaurants close by.
La Croix du Vieux Pont at Berny Riviere, Champagne

This park offers a well equipped pool complex with an indoor and heated outdoor pool; jacuzzi; 2 waterslides and small slides for the little ones. If that is not enough there are multiple playgrounds with trampolines and go-karts; mini golf; tennis and table tennis and also archery (open from 1st May). The restaurant offers meals for those days when you do not want to cook or alternatively try the pizzeria. On site is a supermarket and separate bakery offering freshly baked bread daily. There is a weekly coach excursion to Disneyland Resort Paris, but it is about an hour's drive if you prefer to go in your own time. Compiegne is 15 miles away and Soissons is 11 miles; the sleepy village of Pierrefonds with a fairytale castle is only 9 miles away.

This is the real heart of the Dordogne too, with rolling wooded hillsides, sleepy, honey-coloured villages, crumbling old farmhouses and castles galore to discover.
