Le Port de Limeuil at Limeuil, Dordogne
When you're seeking a really quiet and relaxing holiday, you'll find Le Port de Limeuil very much to your taste. Les Grottes de Roffey at Sarlat, Dordogne
Les Grottes de Roffy is a family favourite. It has three pools in an excellent complex which is the park's centrepiece and the facilities here are good all round, with tennis as well as a children's play area. There is also a charming and reasonably priced restaurant which is so good it's even enjoyed by the locals, despite the presence of many first rate alternatives nearby. Pitches here are on a series of terraces, some with views over the idyllic countryside that surrounds the park and the rural setting also offers many delightful walks amongst the patchwork woods and fields.
Le Vieux Port at Messanges, Gascony
On the Atlantic coast, Le Vieux Port is close to a magnificent long, sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, which shelves steeply into the lively waves. The park is located in a beautiful pine forest and has some great facilities including a great pool complex with seven pools and excellent waterslides. Out of the pool there is also a lot to do with a fun adventure playground, tennis, table tennis, and all sorts of games and sports events during the busy summer months. The park has it's own grill restaurant and during the summer there is also a weekly barbecue with an occasional disco held in high season. Delightful Bordeaux and bustling Bayonne are also both within easy reach by car and the lakeside resort of Port d'Albret is a short walk away and Messanges is 3 km away.
Lacanau 4 Sun at Lacanau Ocean, Gascony

The holiday village at Moliets has to be one of your first choices if you're looking for an active family holiday set in tranquil surroundings. At the forest's edge is Moliets-Plage, the 3km wide beach resort, developed sensitively, and with great charm. Moliets is a secluded little place, sheltered by the Landes pine forest, a perfect place for a stroll. The region is just one huge, open-air deli with its foie gras, conserves and pates. Le Paradis at St Leon, Dordogne
Le Paradis, it is set amidst France's loveliest countryside, close to the meandering rivers of the Dordogne. The park has a superb heated swimming complex that includes a family swimming pool, waterfalls, a toddler pool as well as plenty of room for everyone to relax poolside. Ciboure at Ciboure, Gascony
Sheltered in the calmer waters of the St Jean de Luz bay, the water sports and activities here are a degree or two more chilled out than at the larger resorts to the north. Ciboure offers all the exhilaration for those who like to take the air, or even take to the waters, in relative peace and tranquillity. On land the accent is on quiet enjoyment, Ciboure is calm compared to its busy fishing port neighbour of Saint Jean-de-Luz, but there is still plenty to keep you busy. You're not too far from the Spanish border, with the beautiful Pyrenees rising in the south.
