La Cote d'Argent at Hourtin Plage, Royan
Cote d'Argent is a fantastic?family?choice thanks to its excellent facilities and good access to many other sights and attractions nearby. Here, you're just 300m from a lovely sandy beach where you can hire surfboards and take advantage of the huge Atlantic rollers. You're also just a ten minute drive away from France's largest fresh water lake where more water sports are available, and slightly further afield are famous vineyards including Pessac and Medoc - perfect for wine lovers. On parc the superb facilities include bicycle hire, horse riding and a new waterpark?opened in 2013. There's also organised entertainment, plus popular bar, restaurant and take-away, while just a few minutes away?at Hourtin Plage there are plenty more bars and restaurants to sample.
Camping Atlantique Parc at La Palmyre, Royan
Situated in 42 acres of natural landscaped grounds, this parc is ideal for a fun family holiday. With swimming pools, mini farm and playground, there is plenty to keep the young ones entertained. The pool especially is a real winner, with its natural beach surrounding the pool?s lagoon-shaped contours.?And for the water enthusiasts, the beach nearby offers a wide variety of watersports. You can also hire bikes and explore the local area, with its colourful markets, shops and the kids will love spending time at La Palmyre Zoo. The facilities on this park are second to none, especially the superb aquatic area with its three pools, lazy river and triple water slide. There is a new water park planned, including indoor children's pool, spa, jacuzzi and Turkish bath. Close by you can learn to surf and body board in the spectacular Atlantic waves. There are dozens of activities for kids of all ages, as well as entertainment, centred around the bar-restaurant every night in high season, with the promise that all will be quiet after midnight and the park owner is keen for all rules to be respected for the benefit and comfort of all guests. Beyond the park, Labenne offers endless forest roads and cycle paths; while the town itself has a splendid outdoor market, two petting zoos, as well as the lovely Marais d'Orx nature park.

Here you can play tennis, enjoy the attractive outdoor pools and waterslide or try the indoor pool across the road in the newer part of the park, where there is a recently added spa complex. Located at the entrance to Camping le Vieux Port are the indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides, jacuzzi and wave pool as well as a separate paddling pool for the children. The site offers all you need during your stay, with a friendly restaurant, lively bar and well stocked supermarket. During high season the campsite run an excellent entertainment programme including live music, cabaret and theme nights.

The pitches here are set in shady oak land and the site boasts its own lake, which is ideal for a quiet spot of carp fishing. The fantastic pool complex incorporates waterslides, a jacuzzi, sauna and an expansive sun terrace. Sports opportunities are plentiful take to the tennis courts or the gymnasium, while young children will love the excellent play area and trampolines. Le Vieux Port at Messanges, Gascony
On the Atlantic coast, Le Vieux Port is close to a magnificent long, sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, which shelves steeply into the lively waves. The park is located in a beautiful pine forest and has some great facilities including a great pool complex with seven pools and excellent waterslides. Out of the pool there is also a lot to do with a fun adventure playground, tennis, table tennis, and all sorts of games and sports events during the busy summer months. The park has it's own grill restaurant and during the summer there is also a weekly barbecue with an occasional disco held in high season. Delightful Bordeaux and bustling Bayonne are also both within easy reach by car and the lakeside resort of Port d'Albret is a short walk away and Messanges is 3 km away.

Les Grottes de Roffy is a family favourite. It has three pools in an excellent complex which is the park's centrepiece and the facilities here are good all round, with tennis as well as a children's play area. There is also a charming and reasonably priced restaurant which is so good it's even enjoyed by the locals, despite the presence of many first rate alternatives nearby. Pitches here are on a series of terraces, some with views over the idyllic countryside that surrounds the park and the rural setting also offers many delightful walks amongst the patchwork woods and fields.
Domaine de la Rive at Biscarosse, Gascony
La Rive is nestled amongst acres of the famous Landaise Forests on the shores of the Biscarosse Lake, four miles from the small town of Biscarosse. Apart from boasting one of the best lakeside beaches in the South West and being awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, the owner has created a superb water park that includes 4 slides, children's pool, covered pool, and Jacuzzi. Facilities are available for mooring customers' own boats. The whole family will enjoy the range of facilities from playgrounds and archery to the covered pool complex with waterslides, jacuzzi and toddler pools. The delightful bar and restaurant overlook a well equipped and spacious play area and the quaint town of Biscarosse with its bars, shops and nightlife only a short drive away. If you're bringing a boat, the small port will moor it for a small fee for the duration of your stay.

The high quality facilities include a wonderful pool complex with three swimming pools, water-slides and a heated children's pool. Best of all, everything is kept absolutely immaculate. Surrounded by lush green countryside the park enjoys plenty of shade from established trees and even has its own charming little lake, which is a popular spot for fishing. The owners arrange a variety of traditional entertainment throughout the season too, including live bands and weekly discos in high season. And as well as all the other attractions of the Dordogne, both Salignac and Sarlat are just a short drive away.

Le Val d?Ussel is an impressive natural parc situated in the heart of the Dordgone P?rigord countryside. The park has a superb heated swimming complex that includes a family swimming pool, waterfalls, a toddler pool as well as plenty of room for everyone to relax poolside. Other facilities at Le Val d'Ussel include a multi-sports pitch (for basketball, handball, volleyball and more), a restaurant, bar and small shop.
