This award winning park is situated on the shoreline of the Lac de Chalain and is a great place to explore the lakes and mountains of this wonderful area. In high season the site becomes very lively, with plenty of organised entertainment. There's also a lakeside beach where you can swim, canoe and windsurf. The area is great for walkers, with rolling countryside and cascading waterfalls just waiting to be discovered. The Jura is a wonderful region for exploring; the Herisson Waterfalls make for a spectacular day out, while the French Alps are also close by.
Chateau de Drancourt at St Valery, Picardy
Ideally placed for the Channel ports, this 'Castels' park enjoys a picturesque location in the gardens of Chateau de Drancourt, with many facilities that make it ideal for a great family holiday. Children will love the play areas and the three pools, one of which is covered, while the golf range is popular with absolutely everyone. There are also some beautifully converted stables, which provide a focal point for many other activities. The owners have created a great family atmosphere too, which you can sample at the cosy restaurant, in the bar of the main Chateau, or at the lively karaoke nights held in high summer. The local area offers a wealth of day trips too, with the medieval port of St. Valery just a few kilometres away.
Le Touquet at Le Touquet, Picardy

A beach resort with a fashionable past behind it, Le Touquet's well planned streets and bracing forest tracks offer everything from dunes to dressage. The sea is never far away, not least from the Thalassotherapy centre, with its restorative spa treats. Outside, you can enjoy a swim in the sun at the beach, or a gallop at the equestrian centre nearby. France's northeast coast is wonderfully invigorating and Le Touquet is the perfect spot for exploring.
La Croix du Vieux Pont at Berny Riviere, Champagne
This park offers a well equipped pool complex with an indoor and heated outdoor pool; jacuzzi; 2 waterslides and small slides for the little ones. If that is not enough there are multiple playgrounds with trampolines and go-karts; mini golf; tennis and table tennis and also archery (open from 1st May). The restaurant offers meals for those days when you do not want to cook or alternatively try the pizzeria. On site is a supermarket and separate bakery offering freshly baked bread daily. There is a weekly coach excursion to Disneyland Resort Paris, but it is about an hour's drive if you prefer to go in your own time. Compiegne is 15 miles away and Soissons is 11 miles; the sleepy village of Pierrefonds with a fairytale castle is only 9 miles away.

A superb lakeside setting, make this park ideal for water sport enthusiasts as well as sun worshippers. This spectacular park that is ideally situated on the banks of a natural lake and it is surrounded by the wooded foothills of the Jura. It features a fantastic pool complex with waterslides, children's pool, jacuzzi and heated indoor pool, not to mention a wide range of sporting activities, though some may not be available until July. Park residents are entitled to free access to the pool according to a credit system for entry, please ask at time of booking. The adjoining lakeside beach is a great place to soak up the sun, but you can also fish, swim, or hire a pedalo or canoe. There are also many beautiful walks and gorgeous wine villages to be explored and the many attractions of Switzerland are within easy reach.

Being situated just three miles from St Valery and amidst the lush meadows of a private chateau; this Castels site has lovely spacious parklands. The owners have created a family atmosphere with some excellent facilities situated around the chateau include swimming pools surrounded by a sun terrace. Children will love the play areas and the three pools, one of which is covered, while the golf range is popular with absolutely everyone. For the active there are tennis, mountain bike hire and a golf driving range. The restaurant and cosy lounge bar are perfect places to spend the evening. This is a fantastic site to wander around; meet the birdlife along the riverside or the friendly ducklings in the grounds of the adjacent chateau. Paris offers so many famous sights; the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur, to name but a few. Camping International makes it all easy, situated as it does on an island of the Seine in the lovely Paris suburb of Maison-Laffitte. The beauty of this park is the ease with which it brings you into Paris Gard du Nord via the nearby railway station with its rapid, frequent service day or night. You should note however, that you may hear trains and barges from your accommodation. Opening at Easter, this is an ideal destination for a short break in its own right, or as a memorable stop during your main holiday.

Based in the north west of Paris, Camping International is close to a local train station, just a twenty minute journey to the city centre and a direct journey to Disneyland Resort Paris. What's more Versailles is only 20 minutes away by car. This site is all about its location and as a result the facilities are quite basic but do include a shop and bar. The local town of Maisons Laffitte is walking distance and there you will find some good restaurants, a supermarket and local shops. Barges and trains can be heard on-site.
